Mr. Sanjay Singhal has been working in the telecom industry for more than twenty four years and has extensive US and international experience in management, strategy, finance, business development, planning, implementing infrastructure, ground based satellite communication, terrestrial & submarine fiber and space based projects worldwide. He has been associated with the satellite industry since 1987 and has operated, managed and advised many small, medium & large companies on their business strategy, market identification, business plan, international presence and partnerships. He has travelled worldwide and developed relationships on virtually every continent and in more than 65 countries.
Mr. Singhal founded the flagship satellite communication company, Sintel Satellite Services, Inc., back in 1997 in Long Island, New York providing systems integration and satcom projects implementation in Africa, Middle East, Asia and Europe with regional teams located primarily in Asia & Middle East and program managers and technology expertise based in the US. SintelSat has developed a niche market to provide satcom & terrestrial solutions to US based corporate and government customers with implementation at international locations in difficult and challenging locations. An equally significant part of the business provides services & solutions to international customers, governments, corporations, service providers & legacy PTTs overseas on specialized, complex and challenging projects that require high technology cutting edge solutions within reasonable and affordable costs, flexibility and focus to get the projects completed successfully & professionally within time and budget constraints. The company has been successful in providing multi-technology, multi-platform, satellite, fiber, microwave and wireless systems, solutions, networks and services worldwide with US based methodology and professionalism. Under the leadership of Mr. Singhal, the company has added new business segments in the satellite space technology market and satellite imaging business in last several years which will be providing the largest growth opportunities to the company in coming years.
Since 1990s, Mr. Singhal has emphasized the business value proposition and local knowledge in emerging markets achieved through the local & regional presence and set up company's international field offices in many countries including but not limited to the Philippines, India, Djibouti, Dubai, Bahrain, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon and now South Sudan and Libya. This has provided tremendous value to our western hemisphere customers by take advantage of the local/ regional knowledge in Africa, Middle East and Central Asia with global outlook thus providing business efficiencies. In early 2000s, SintelSat had installed several teams spread all over the globe including Afghanistan, Iraq and other difficult places to address the telecom requirements in the post-conflict zones with limited, damaged or no infrastructure. The current effort is based on installing teams in the emerging markets of South Sudan, Libya and Burma and in future Cuba, Syria and Persian Gulf.
Currently, the company has teleport arrangements in Germany, Hong Kong, Australia and the US to provide global satellite coverage and have field personnel/ partners available in more than 65 countries worldwide including but not limited to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Southern Sudan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Libya and the Persian Gulf. In last fifteen years, Mr. Singhal has developed key relationships with some of the most prominent customers in North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia that would lead the future growth and success of the company to unlimited potential in infrastructure building, mobile and broadband ICT solutions and ground & space based satellite systems.
In the early part of his career, Mr. Singhal's satellite communications experience includes more than a decade of systems design, project engineering, program management and business development experience with Telecommunications Specialists (TELSPEC), New York, Satellite Transmission Systems (STS), New York, California Microwave –STS, NY and a brief stint at Globecomm Systems, New York. Mr. Singhal has traveled worldwide extensively and successfully managed & implemented many large, prestigious programs worldwide.
Besides managing SintelSat, Mr. Singhal has advised several companies, organizations and Governments in the Telecom & IT sector. Some of those successful companies/organizations are:
- A public-private partnership (PPP) with Govt. of Cameroon - Satellite and Wi-Max country wide project for the HR & youth development in Cameroon, Africa
- Mauritius Telecom (previously OTS), Government of Mauritius, Africa
- ITPC (under Ministry of Telecom, Government of Iraq), Iraq
- A CDMA mobile network provider in Lagos, Nigeria
- Verizon Business/Verizon Federal (old MCI team) in Djibouti, Africa
- Software Solutions Company based in New York (IT Services)
- Satellite & wireless solutions provider in Canada (Wireless Infrastructure Organization)
- Satellite Communication Company in Lebanon , Middle East (VSAT Services Provider)

Mr. Singhal is a champion member of the United Nations – Global Alliance for ICT Development for last 6 years and has contributed to ICT development issues in the underdeveloped, remote and less privileged parts of the globe. He is a member of the US Chamber of Commerce, Society of Satellite Professionals Association (SSPI) and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), World Affairs Council (WAC- DC) and regularly attends Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) events.
Mr. Singhal holds dual degree Executive-MBA from Columbia Business School, New York and London Business School, UK, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University, NY and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee. He has been living on Long Island, New York for almost past three decades.
